FEA Analysis of a Cantilevered Beam

October 2025
AnalysisSOLIDWORKS FEALatex

This project focused on the fundamentals of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) by simulating a copper cantilever beam under a 75 lbf load. The study involved configuring boundary conditions, generating meshes, and extracting displacement and von Mises stress plots. A critical component was the analytical verification of the results, where FEA data was validated against Euler-Bernoulli beam theory. Additionally, the study evaluated the transition from elastic to plastic deformation to determine the maximum load threshold before material yield.
