Experimental and analytical study of beam mechanics, focusing on the deflection and stress profiles of steel, aluminum, and acrylic under varying support conditions. With a partner, we conducted theoretical calculations and physical experiments to validate Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, specifically analyzing how geometric orientation influences stiffness in acrylic rods. The study required Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to correlate simulated stress distributions with physical results.
